The standard Montañas del Fuego visit includes the official Ruta de los Volcanes bus ride from Islote de Hilario. You cannot leave the bus during the route. Follow the visitor centre's rules in this protected landscape.
If you have a car
You can reach the Montañas del Fuego entrance on the LZ-67 and buy a ticket through the official channel. It gives you flexibility to explore the south, though you should check current access information and allow for queues.
If you prefer a tour
An organised excursion can take care of transport and add stops such as La Geria or Jameos del Agua. Compare duration, language, pick-up and whether admission is included; itineraries vary by operator.
